Hi I'm Angela

I grew up in California. I am a mother of 3 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with both parents and five brothers and sisters. Our family is very close. I played volleyball in high school and loved it, though I was not very good. I was a missionary in Taiwan, Taichung for 18 months. I studied Mandarin Chinese and Linguistics in college to become an ESL teacher. I planned to return to Asia to teach English, but I met my husband from Peru and got married instead. I am now married with three children. I have worked as a police dispatcher, but being home full time with my children is my priority right now. I feel very lucky to be able to stay home with them because I know not everyone has this opportunity. I am also lucky to have a husband who loves me, supports me, and is always there for me and our children.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I love it. Because it makes me happy. Because it guides me and helps me in every aspect of my life, especially in the difficult times, but in all times. Because it is the church of Jesus Christ. It is lead by Him through a living prophet and apostles. They teach us how to live so we can be happy, feel God's love, and be able to return to live with Him and our families again. I know it is true because of the amazing feelings I have gotten when I have prayed and asked if it is true. God answers my prayers. He is always there for me. Being a Mormon taught me this, and many other wonderful things I otherwise never would have taken the time or energy to learn. Church is three hours long and it is every single Sunday. It is not always exciting and not everyone there is perfect. We are all there to help each other out, support each other, and learn together. I love that my children are learning to be better people with a strong support system. When I go to church, when I read the scriptures, and when I pray I feel God's love. Nothing in the world feels better than that. I know He is there.

How I live my faith

My husband and I take our children to church every Sunday. We read our scriptures together every night. We have read through the Book of Mormon together, cover to cover, already. Right now we reading in Numbers in the Bible. The kids love to learn the stories in the scriptures. We also make sure to pray together every night before bed and before meals. My husband teaches the four year old children at church. Primary is what we call the organization for children under twelve. I work in the primary presidency. Our goal is to teach the children about Jesus and to bring them closer to Him. I also have my own daily scripture study, prayers and we try to attend the temple on a regular basis.
