Hi I'm Caitlin Drew

I was born and raised in Cedar City, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Cedar City is a small city about an hour north of St. George, UT. Most people wouldn't stop there if it weren't for the Shakespearean Festival and the Utah Summer Games. When I tell people about where I live, they always comment, "So what do you do for fun there? There isn't a lot to do, huh?!" This might be true for people who are used to spending money for fun but I loved growing up here! My friend and I always were thinking of new ways to have fun. Playing each others sports was one way. My favorite sports are tennis and soccer. We always tried to get tons of people together to play! If we wanted to play when it was dark we would pour glow-sticks over the equipment so we could see. Southern Utah is full of scenic hikes and many times I would try to create my own hikes. It was a great way to explore and see how beautiful the world is. One of my goals right now is to do every hike that is in Cedar City. There are more hikes than people think there are. From a very young age, I started participating in choirs and musicals. Throughout my life, I have been in plays, learned to play the piano and percussion, and been in choirs. Music has always been a big part of my life. I constantly find myself singing or thinking of songs. Right after I had my wisdom teeth removed, I sang the whole car ride home and about 30 min after. You can say I can't help from singing!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt Heavenly Father's love when I have felt alone. I have learned about the Church my whole life but at an early age realized that I can't rely on my parents, family, or friends to determine what I believe in. I studied the scriptures and prayed to see if this church is true. I constantly receive the answer every time I bear my testimony, hear someone bear their testimony, listen to the prophet, sing hymns, and sometimes randomly throughout the day. I do suffer from mild depression and because I know the power of the atonement, I feel at peace when it's hard to be happy. I know that there is a living prophet on the Earth today and he receives revelation from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that is for our benefit. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true church on the Earth and he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and gives us the personal guidance that we need.

How I live my faith

I am a part of the Cottonwood ward. Our ward doesn't expand into the overflow every Sunday. In fact we barely fill up the Chapel. My calling is currently a ward missionary. This means that I get to meet with everyone living in my ward boundaries. Whether they are members of the Church or not. I love learning about who everyone is and sharing messages of love from Jesus Christ. I work with the missionaries to bring others to gospel. It is helping me to Serve a mission. I currently have my mission call to Mexico Mexico City West Mission and I report to the Mexico Missionary Training Center on January 21, 2014! I am so excited to do what I am doing right now in Mexico! I am preparing myself to serve by keeping the commandments, reading the Book of Mormon everyday, praying and going to a class called Missionary Preparation. It might seem like all of this work is wasting my time to benefit myself but nothing brings me more joy then seeing how the Gospel of the Restored Church of Jesus Christ blesses everyone!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Caitlin Drew
The decision to serve a mission is between you and Heavenly Father. I have many friends who want to serve missions but after a lot of prayer, learned that there were different and better plans for them. Show more Show less
