Hi I'm Erin

I'm an aspiring journalist who loves to write. Being around and talking to others makes me happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah as the youngest of three kids. My two older brothers helped make me strong-willed, resilient, and competitive in everything from sports, breathing, and everything in between. My mom kicked breast cancer's butt and taught me to always wear a smile on my face, no matter the trial or challenge in front of me. I love to write and interact with others. Learning other people's stories intrigues me, so you can find me on the questioning end of most conversations. I'm an aspiring journalist with the hopes of writing for the Church someday. Before that, I should probably get through college. I'm attending school and loving every second of it. At the end of this semester I'll be leaving it all behind for 18 months, though. I've been called to serve a Spanish speaking mission in New York, and I'm looking forward to it with my whole heart and soul. (Only 94 days until I leave!)

Why I am a Mormon

I love Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ brings me peace, comfort, and clarity in each and every day of my life. Life can get pretty darn hectic and confusing at times, but with Him by my side I know I can get through whatever may be thrown my way. He knows all of us by name and He is acutely aware of our circumstances. Because of this, He truly listens to and answers our prayers. I'm a Mormon because I believe following Him and keeping His commandments brings the sweetest joy there is. I know He loves us infinitely and wants to help return to Him, so I try to trust His plan. When I do so, I am overwhelmed with confirming happiness and purpose in my life.

How I live my faith

I believe social media can be a force for good. I like sharing spiritual thoughts and messages on Facebook and Twitter, as well as posting my testimony from time to time. In my college ward I serve as a Sunday School teacher, specifically teaching Gospel Doctrine.
