Hi I'm Becca

I am 19 years old and I grew up in Utah, USA. I love to spend time with family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of 8 children, one older sister, five younger sisters, and my brother is the youngest. I competitively dove and ran in high school, although I was never really good, I absolutely loved it! Things I like to do in my spare time is read, or whenever possible is ride my families horse. Currently I am serving a mission to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to be born into the restored gospel, where my Father has been a convert, and my mothers parents are converts. As I grew to learn the gospel, I came to the realization that being born into a religion isn't enough to find Eternal happiness. We all have to be converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. While I was growing up, I gradually began to know the truthfulness of the restored gospel. My first major turning point was when I was going to have to go to high school. Where I live, I have to go to live with a host family an hour away from home to attend 11th and 12th grade. At first it was really weird living with a family I barely knew, only having met once prior to me living there, but I slowly began to let go and try to fit into the new area around me. Not having my parents there was hard, and I had to decide whether to live my life how I had been taught, centered around Jesus Christ, or rebel and do whatever I want, never finding true happiness. At first I started trying to stay out late, messing around with my friends, not truly obeying what I knew to be right. As I distanced myself with the gospel, I began to base my trust in my friends, and when that fell, I began to search for something that would keep me stable. Leaning on the testimonies of others, I gradually began to climb, slowly at first, but soon I moved faster than I ever had before. I learned so many things that I would have never began to be interested in, or even understand, then is when I began to learn the truthfulness of the gospel, and gain a testimony of my own of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am serving a full time mission where for 18 months I will leave my family and go to Argentina where I will be able to learn the spanish language, and also teach the gospel to people there. Where I grew up, basically our entire town of 200 people was mostly Mormon, so we had several church activities we would participate in as youth where all of the kids my age would participate.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Becca
I found as I continually read and study my scriptures each day, I can become closer to Christ and my mind is more clear, ready for the challenges of the day. When I don't read my scriptures, I become easily frustrated, things never seem to go right, and I feel tension held inside my body. As I continuously strive to read daily, I found that scriptures will come to my mind when they are needed throughout the day, helping me constantly as I go along. Show more Show less
