Hi I'm Matthew

Born in the US and grew up many places over the US, was a missionary in Peru, finishing college and working. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play guitar and love listening to all types of music but mostly rock like Alter Bridge and Coheed and Cambria.I am in my last year of college studying Human Resources and hope to find a good job in a major corporation. I want to start my own company but want to make sure I can be a family man. From the example of my father, I want to provide my future family the same experiences that he gave my mom, my sisters and I.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was 12 years old, I knelt down and prayed to God to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet He called in these last days before Christ's second coming. Since receiving that answer, my life has not become easier with this knowledge; only that my life has been filled with meaning. I stumble and have hard times. Recently, a very close friend died in a car accident because her friend fell asleep at the wheel. My closest grandparent past away the year before, I was married and my ex-wife cheated on me and said terrible things just to hurt before she left. Throughout, I still felt the love from the Savior and know He loves me. I know because when I was 12 years old, I prayed to God to know His will for me by asking Him a question about the gospel.

How I live my faith

Living this faith takes a lifestyle. Waking up in the morning to pray and finding time to devote to personal development each day like reading the scriptures and writing in my studying journal about what I learn can be tricky with school, work and trying to keep up my social life. Going to church Sundays in only a small part of living my faith. As my parents have shown with their own lives, building strong and meaningful relationships with loved ones and God needs to be a top priority everyday. Eventually we all pass away from this life and cannot take the material things we have acquired with us; only the memories and character of who I have become.
