Hi I'm Miranda

I am a teen in high school learning along the way. I am a Mormon

About Me

Hi:) I'm Miranda. High school is and can be a rough time for people, not knowing who they are, where they belong, or even why they are in school. I know I've struggled with these questions, but through being involved in many different activities it helps me learn. I am a part of a speech and debate team wherein I learn to speak in front of others, I find my own voice, and I learn more about the world around me. Growing up, I moved around... a lot! It's taught me to be open to new things and be flexible when plans change. Life is a beautiful thing; no matter how hard it can be at times.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what being a member of this church has brought to my life. Knowing my Heavenly Father's plan for me, including where I came from and what comes after this life, has brought so much comfort. I also know that this Church is true because of the happiness it has brought me. The feeling I get every time I converse/pray with my Heavenly Father is so beyond amazing that I just keep doing it. Life is hard, but I know that if it was not hard at times, it could not be great anytime. I know for a surety that my (and your) Father in Heaven loves each one of us beyond what we can comprehend. There was a time when I did not believe this, but through His gospel, His scriptures, and my effort, I know he does. No matter who you are, what you've done, or what your circumstances are, remember that God, the eternal Father, and His son, Jesus Christ, loves you. An infinite amount. And nothing will ever change that.

How I live my faith

My calling within my church is to be an advisor for the young women my age. We range from the ages of 16-18 and there are about 22 girls that my presidency presides over. To me, being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not something that one does passively. It is simply not enough to only think about church-related things on Sunday. One of the main ways that I live my faith is by service. It is easy to find people who need help, so why not do it? When you serve others you emulate Jesus Christ and all that He did. Service does not have to be grand or extensive, like some seem to think, it can be as simple as smiling to those around you. At my place of work I make it a personal goal to compliment every customer that comes in. And although I do not get every single person, I know I have helped even in a small way.
