Hi I'm Grant

I grew up in the city. I was a leader in my school. I am a missionary for my church. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi, I am so glad for the opportunity that I have to share my testimony with you. I am currently serving a 2-year mission in South America. I hope that you are able to see the many blessings from the restored gospel that I have seen. There have been countless occasions throughout school or on the playing field where individuals have turned to vulgarity or physical abuse towards others when feeling insecure. I am here today to share with you that there is a different option. When you feel "less than" or "unpopular", don't turn to punishing innocent individuals to try and feel better. Take a moment to step back and look at the "big picture." Count the blessings that you have received and take the time to thank your Heavenly Father for those. Without him, nothing here on earth would be possible. Once you find those blessings, try and share them with others. Look for people that may be in the same situation as you and work together to build a strong friendship and try to prevent others from feeling insecure about themselves.

Why I am a Mormon

For the longest time I didn't know how to answer the question of, "Why am I Mormon?" During a lesson in sunday school we had a speaker that asked the members of the class to raise their hands if they were a convert to the church. Slowly, but surely, a few hands popped up in the air while the remainder of the class looked around. The speaker then went on to ask the other students, what's keeping you back? It took me a moment but I soon realized what he had meant. I had not been fully converted to the gospel. Yes I had been baptized and confirmed a member of the church but hadn't grown my testimony for myself. I had been coasting off of my parents testimony my entire life. I soon wanted to change that. I began studying the scriptures with a purpose. To learn for my self that the things which are in them are true. I would pray before and after I would read for clarity and guidance in my reading. It was definitely worth it when I got this overwhelming feeling of the truthfulness of the gospel. I know that this church is true with all my heart. I know that all of the teachings and revelations we have are true as well. I am so excited for the opportunity I have to share the gospel with the people of Argentina in South America. I am anxious for what will come of the experience and can only hope that you will receive the same feeling that I have towards the church!

How I live my faith

I have had the amazing opportunity to serve in the presidency quorums of Deacon, Teacher, and priest quorum. In my quorums we started out by having the advisors teach the lessons. This provided a well taught lesson but didn't really teach a great lesson that stuck with the members of the quorum. My presidency got together to try and come up with a solution for this and we did! Since my 2nd year in the deacons quorum, my quorum members and I have been teaching the lesson in Priesthood every sunday since then (5+ years). At first, this seemed a little bit overwhelming, but as time went on, it became the normal thing to do. My quorum members, and the youth to come, have gained a stronger testimony by learning how to prepare a lesson on their own, how to study the scriptures and lesson manuals, and how to teach their findings to the class. This provided them with not only a stronger knowledge of the Restored Gospel but also a life skill of being able to speak in public and prepare lessons.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Grant
Jesus Christ had to atone for our sins so that we may become clean and return to live with our Father in Heaven after this life. The Atonement is the ability for us to become clean of our sins and our pains through Jesus Christ. We are able to have our sins remembered no more by Heavenly Father and also all of our pains in our daily lives removed. We must all use the Atonement in our lives so that we can live more happily with our families on the earth and prepare to live with them forever in Heaven. Show more Show less
