Hi I'm Dawn L Bishop

if you desire to make a difference in the world you must be different from the world. Elaine S Dalton.

About Me

I am a single woman, with two adult children. They are my world. I love to travel! I grew up as an Army brat, so moved many, many times in my life. I still move a lot. I consider myself an LDS Gypsy. One of my 'bucket lists items' is to travel to each continent. I enjoy reading, music, photography, sewing, knitting, going to the theater and museums, and so much more.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were introduced to the church when I was 6 years old. My mom was always searching for a religion, and always felt like something was missing in her life. I remember the first time the missionaries came to our home. From the beginning they were like family, like uncles, and since we were so far from our family it was comforting to have them with us. At that time everyone in my family was baptized, accept me because I was not 8 years old. From that time on the church was a huge part of my life. I remember always loving attending church, and never fighting to go. I even attended Seminary, (a course taken for an hour a day, during school days, for 4 years). I am still very proud to have that four year graduation certfcate. I had a few years in my 20's that I became inactive from church. I had married a man who was very against the church, and had not allowed me to attend. During that time, like my mother, I was searching for something to try and replace what I was missing that the Gopel of the LDS church gave me, but was never able to find that missing peeve, until I became single, and was able to start atttending the LDS church again. I have so much faith in my belief in the Gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The calmness that I feel when I attend church I know is the Holy Ghost helping confirm to me that I am Home. I believe with my whole heart that we lived before I came here, and after this life is through we will be with our families through Eternity. I have read the Book of Mormon, I believe that it is truly another testament of Christ. I made my choice, you can mark this day, the day I pledge to take His name. I will be strong, I will be brave, standing for Him as Intake my place. I have felt the Spirit burn truth in my heart, it's in my heart, I will not fall. In a world that's weak, I will be strong I'll be true, I will choose His way, I know what's right, and I will not change. I WILL! (Hilary Weeks)

How I live my faith

I am very active in my church community. I have held many callings at church such as.......Releif Society (this is the women's group) Secretary, Relief Society Teacher, Primary teacher (this is the children), and Cub Scout leader. Some of my favorite times is when I have been in the community serving. While living in CT there was a severe snow storm that knocked the power out for more than a week. I was able to join other members from the church in cleaning up fallen trees, and helping others get out of their driveways. One of my favorite things about being a member of this wonderful church is the service given to everyone, worldwide, and not just members of the Church. It amazes me constantly the Christlike love, and service that goes on daily to help others. I am so proud to be part of an organization that truly loves all people.
