Hi I'm Amber

I was born in Tennessee, and grew up in Oregon. I am a sister and a daughter. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a current student attending school in Utah. I am studying to become a special education teacher. I love working with kids and have pursued summer jobs and volunteer opportunities that allow me to work with kids. I play the flute and am working on a music minor. I have played with bands, ensembles, and am currently playing with a flute choir. Outside of school, I love to run 5ks and triathlons. Almost anything outdoors, I love to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church my entire life, being born into an actively attending family. When I was thirteen years old and finished The Book of Mormon, I followed Moroni's promise and received positive confirmation on the truth of it. My testimony was strengthened then and is ever strengthening as I continue to read The Book of Mormon and live the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending Church and Church activities every week. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I have served in a few callings in my YSA wards and my family ward. Most recently I was able to teach and play with the 18 month to 3 year olds. Currently, I have received a mission call and am preparing to serve the Lord for 18 months in Puerto Rico.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Amber
Being a young woman with the more recent age change opportunity, I have been asked by many friends if I was going to serve a mission. Growing up, I always liked the idea of serving a mission, but it was always so far away. I didn't make a firm decision. When the age change was announced, I was in high school, and I started thinking about it more seriously. It took a few months of prayer and searching for me to receive my answer. Show more Show less
