Hi I'm Chris

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I love the sports, camping, fishing, and working with children who have special needs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an easy going guy. I like to spend time with family and friends doing a variety of activities. I enjoy traveling, camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, target shooting, and going to the movies. Some of my other hobbies include writing and singing(mostly in the shower, who doesn't right?) In high school I was in two choirs and played two seasons of football. Since graduating, I have left my old job working at a sandwich shop to take up working with children who have special needs. This is a line of work I have come to enjoy very much and now, as I attend college at Arizona State University, I plan to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy where I can further help children. I love seeing children succeed in their goals and become more independent. As of January 21st., I will be leaving my home in Arizona to serve a full-time mission in the Georgia, Atlanta North Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was raised in the church from the day I was born but that is not why I am a Mormon. True, being raised in the church has given me a background from which to grow, but for a time I did not care for church. I did not truly appreciate and understand what living the complete and restored Gospel of Jesus Christ could do to bring joy in my life. I went to my meetings because my family made me. I quit praying and reading my scriptures. As I did this I soon found that I wasn't very happy with the direction my life was going. I fell to temptation and found myself lonely and struggling with addiction and other transgressions. I became tired of being unhappy. I decided to start caring again. I started reading scriptures, praying, and working with my family and other who could help me. It was a difficult path but as I underwent the process of repentance I came to better know the love that My Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ have for me. There came a point where I felt this love and peace at church as I partook of the sacrament. Since I haven't wanted to turn back. I am happier than I have ever been and I now seek to share what I believe, love and know to be true on a mission. I hope that as I serve others they will get to experience the love that I have felt.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live the teachings of the Gospel in every part of my life. I feel the best way for me to be successful in doing this is to make sure that every day I read my scriptures and pray. Seeking out the spirit of God in his word and the words of his Prophets while keeping in contact with him through prayer is best and most sure way to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I have found that the better and more frequently I do those things, that the rest will naturally follow. A large part of the teachings of the Gospel is to love one another and to serve our fellow man. For this reason I try to find the opportunity to give service in big ways and small every day. I pray daily that I will recognize and opportunity to help someone.
