Hi I'm Joy Hathcock

I come from a family of 10, and I love my family. I was a missionary in Anaheim California. I am attending BYU. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm number 4 of 8 children. I love to sing, I love to dance, I love to read and write, I love to camp and enjoy nature! I grew up reading as a means of escape, my love of reading cultivated a rich knowledge. I grew up as a member, and in my late teen years became inactive. Through the love of my family and friends I returned to activity, and was able to servea full time mission. Now back in school I can see how love and support made me who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints because I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He is the Savior of mankind. I know that the Book of Mormon was translated from ancient scripture by the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. That book has changed my life, my very essence of being. It took a rough, callous woman and helped me become a loving desciple of Jesus Christ. I believe that Thomas S Monson is the prophet on the earth today. I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins. I know he is the son of God. I am a Mormon because I know these things to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my community. I also serve in my church, I have taught young women how to camp. I have taught young children how to sing songs. I also reach out and help people who like me, have struggled in life. I try to be a better person every day. As I spent time serving a mission in Anaheim California, I saw the rich blessings that came from serving and loving others. Christ taught us how to love all men, and at times that seems a struggle, but as I have tried to love people I only just met I have seen them through a parents eyes. I live my faith through service! I love helping in the community, and blessing others. I've never felt so loved as when I have served others.
