Hi I'm Britton Butler

I grew up in Utah with my family who I love, I am a full time missionary, and I'm am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy sports, and family. I am super competitive, and i love competition. My family is number one behind following Jesus Christ and his teachings. I love movies, and could probably watch them all day. I also love cars, and have restored a '69 mustang coup with my dad and brother. I also like diesel trucks and enjoy camping and riding motorcycles.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in this Gospel, but at a point in my life had to really find out for myself if this Gospel and these things are true. I was able to gain personal witness of the things which I now know to be true through reading the Book of Mormon, and praying to know if these things are true. I have gained a knowledge through the Book of Mormon and answered prayers that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God to restore his gospel in this modern day. I also know of the power and Authority of the Priesthood is real, and can bless the lives of those who have faith and believe in it. I also know that through Jesus Christ and his atonement we can change and improve our standing with God, and that families can be eternal and in the presence of God.

How I live my faith

I have been involved with teaching and learning within the church programs and know that they are inspired of God. I am now Serving a full time mission to help others receive the knowledge of the Gospel and accept Gods will and principles of doctrine in their life. I know of the things that come from living this Gospel faithfully and the happiness that we can enjoy through our diligence and constant striving to do better.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Britton Butler
We as members have accepted Baptism at one point of our life or another, and it has alot of meaning to those who live worthy of the blessings that come from keeping the promises we make with God. We believe based on the Book of Mormon and by the example of Jesus Christ that baptism must be performed by the proper authority (the priesthood) and must be a baptism by immersion, which symbolizes us leaving our old life and behaviors behind, and starting a new spiritual journey that leads us back to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As we are Baptized, we are considered clean in the sight of the Lord. As we accept Christ, become a follower of him, and keep his commandments for the rest of our lives, he promises to forgive our sins and allow us to return to live in his presence after this life, through his sacred atonement. Baptism is our first step in following Christ, and is how we gain membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Through Baptism, we learn what happiness is, and the true love we can feel from our savior Christ and our Father in heaven, who are ready and willing to bless us according to our faithfulness and works in this life.
