Hi I'm Myles

I was born and raised in the UK. I love hiking, backpacking and being in the great outdoors. I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up in the East Midlands. My family were never religious and to this day are still atheists. I've moved around a lot in the past ten years. I've lived in 10 cities and over 20 properties now. So im my spare time I love to undertake long hikes. Pitching a tent someone different each night is appealing. I intend to hike the Appalachian trail trail one day. I also travel often and had the opportunity to see the Salt Lake Temple. I find guidance in regular scripture study. I'm a avid fan of Dave Ramsey and hope to go back to University debt free one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I first heard about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints while studying at University. I come from a background where my family where atheist and spent most of my life in a atheist household. I was invited to a worship group at my University by a friend from my university halls. After this group session was other, I got down on my knees and asked if God was real. He revealed himself to me and I was filled a sense of warmth and happiness. A few weeks later I learnt a friend of mine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I asked him to arrange teaching lessons with the missionaries. I then proceed to pray to ask if the Book of Mormon was true. I received confirmation that it was. I know the book of Mormon is the restored word of God. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I try to pray to my heavenly father on a regular basis and I love the sense of peace and happiness I feel when I talk to my heavenly father. When I follow the Gospel, life becomes easier, my life and the lives of those around me are blessed. Following the guidance of the holy spirit allows me to successful negotiate the challenges in my life. I am happy and that this happiness comes from the knowledge of a Loving Father in Heaven with a plan for each of us. Overall I'm a Mormon because I know this church is true and it blesses my life.

How I live my faith

iI love the principles of integrity and working hard which are among the central pillars of the Mormon Church.I also try to live my faith by following the example of the Jesus Christ. I try to treat people in everyday life, how I would like to be treated. I also follow the word of wisdom by abstaining from booze, tobacco, tea, coffee among others. I strive to pray my heavenly father as often as I'm able to. I also strive to keep the commandants and principles I have been given. I believe living my faith in this life enables my days to run a lot smoother and enables me to have strength to face problems in life.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Myles
I attribute the growth of the Church to the central role it play in anchoring people to the restored gospel of Christ. People especially new convert can find answers to common questions like where did i come from? is there an afterlife? Which they may not be able to find in the wider world. I also attribute the growth of the church to the warmth and kindness of it's members around the world and successful support groups the church. Are missionaries do fantastic work everyday in bringing souls to Christ and are efficient in seeking out souls who wish to learn more. Show more Show less
