Hi I'm Lorene Moore

I'm a happy grandma & mom because as much as I love my family & they love me... I know my Savior loves us even more!!!

About Me

My husband and I own a heating and air conditioning business, Nebo Comfort Systems. It's a lot of work owning the business, but it is so worth it because it allows me to work from home and have my family, specially my grandchildren, close to me all the time. We love living in a small town where we know all our neighbors and they are like an extension of our family. I enjoy writing stories for my family and write a special Christmas story every year. When I'm not writing stories of my own, I'm reading other people's stories. I'm a true bookworm, devouring a good book like a worm through a leaf. I'm an unrepentant choco-holic with no intensions of "kicking the habit" any time soon. I love trying new recipes for any kind of dessert with chocolate in it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am eternally grateful to my mother for raising me in a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was alive and an active part of our lives. I learned at an early age that I could rely on my Heavenly Father and my elder brother, Jesus, to guide my life and strengthen me in the face of any trial. I know the power of their love for me and am awed to think of the many blessings they have given me. I am grateful to Joseph Smith for his courage and for his parents for teaching him that he could ask of God when he needed answers. Seeing the wondrous restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ unfold because he was wise enough to ask for guidance and because he was brave enough to follow the Lord's counsel gives me strength to do the same when I am faced with any questions in my own life. "By their works you shall know them" is not just a catch phrase or marketing slogan for the LDS people, it is a guiding principle in how we conduct our lives, our businesses, our missions, our church, our world. I pray that my live can be one of service to those around me that someday they can look at me and say, of course she was Christian, look how she lived as Christ did. That is the true measure of our church, the true proof that this is Christ's church, that we live as Christ taught us to.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel and am so grateful for the blessings it brings into my life. Right now I am blessed to serve in the Young Women's program in our ward. I am a Beehive advisor to the absolute best group of young women in the world. I go into denial when they turn 14 and leave me for the Mia Maid class. I love to see our girls together, whether it's girls camp, a combined activity or service, they are wonderful examples of Christlike love and charity. I adore the women I am fortunate enough to serve with as well. I love working with them to bring the spirit of Christ to the youth in new and exciting ways.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Lorene Moore
Have you ever seen a good movie, read a good book or tried a new recipe that you couldn't wait to share with your family and friends? Now imagine how many times you'd have to multiply that feeling if what you had to share literally had the power to change their lives for the better, forever. With a sincere and deep felt belief that every man, woman and child on this earth is our brothers and sisters, we want to share the greatest gift we could ever share with them. The gospel of Jesus Christ is truly the recipe for their eternal happiness and having felt the blessings it has brought into our own lives, we can't wait to share it with our brothers and sisters. Missionaries of all ages leave their homes, families, friends, careers, educations and more to give two years of their lives to share with their brothers and sisters the gospel that brings eternal joy to their lives out of love. A quote that sums up missionary work and why we proselytize is, "Missionaries leave their families for two years so that others can be with their families for eternity." The Book of Mormon is the greatest book we could ever share. The story of the restoration of God's priesthood is better than any movie. And the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only recipe that is sure to bring you true joy in this life and eternal happiness in the next. We want to share it with you, ask us, and you too can feel it. Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Lorene Moore
If you believe in the prophets of the Old and New Testaments, why wouldn't you believe in them today? Never in the history of the world have we needed the guidance of our Heavenly Father through His prophets more. Today Thomas S. Monson is called to serve as prophet, seer and revelator to God's children all over the world. He speaks to God on our behalf and receives guidance and council from the Lord on our behalf. If we will listen to him, President Monson will lead us back to our Heavenly Father. Because our Heavenly Father wants us to return to Him so much, He has given us apostles in this day just as Christ set up in His church when He was on the earth. They are special witnesses of Christ. Do we think our Heavenly Father loved His children who lived on this earth thousands of years ago more than He loves us? Of course not, He loves us today every bit as much as He loved His children during the times of Adam and Moses. A living prophet and apostles on the earth today are proof of our Heavenly Father's great love for us. If you will hear, read their words, and follow their words, they will mark the path and lead the way to joy in this life and eternal salvation. Show more Show less
