Hi I'm Josh

I was born in Arizona, I like playing any sport with a ball and I am preparing to serve a mission in Recife, Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing basically any sport out there, but I particularly enjoy running cross country and playing volleyball. I participated in each of these activities throughout my high school career. I graduated in May of 2014 and then attended a summer semester at Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. I now am preparing to serve a mission for the LDS church in Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but I, like many others who were born or raised in the church, have rediscovered for myself the truth of this Gospel. I followed the challenge in the introduction of the Book of Mormon and asked my Father in Heaven if the Book of Mormon really was true and if this was the only true church on the earth. Although my answer did not come immediately, it did! God hears and answers each and every one of our prayers, we just need to ask in faith and be patient enough to wait for the answer. I also know that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ suffered for each of our sins so that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven after we die. This Gospel has brought me so much happiness and hope in my life and I know it to be true.

How I live my faith

As a member of this church, there is a significant amount of emphasis placed on serving those around us. I have had multiple opportunities to do so throughout my life. For instance, men are assigned a companion with whom they visit families found within their area on a monthly basis. Generally, we visit with these families, leave a short message, then ask if they are in need of any form of service or support. These visits have helped me recognize the importance of selfless service, similar to that of our Savior Jesus Christ.
