Hi I'm Hannah Rae Nelson

I grew up in Missouri and I'm going to the Idaho Boise Mission and I'm a Mormon(:

About Me

I was born in Mesa, Arizona and grew up in Independence, Missouri and I am now serving an 18 month mission in the Idaho Boise area and I love it! I love to play the piano and violin, I love to play hymns and Elvis music! I love to sing (although I am not to great at it) I love to watch movies and quote them! My favorites include anything Disney, Marvel, Hunger Games or classics like "The Princess Bride". I love to spend time with my four younger brothers and younger sister! I love being the oldest of 6 kids! It is one of my favorite things! I love to laugh with them, give them advice, tickle them and spend time with them! I love my Heavenly Father so much! I know he loves me so much!

Why I am a Mormon

The church is perfect. It is set up just like the church that Jesus set up while he was on the Earth. I know that nothing is more true than this gospel and nothing brings me greater joy(:

How I live my faith

I love to sing in church choirs, I am definitely not the best singer but I love how close I feel to my Heavenly Father when I sing hymns! I love to play childrens hymns on the piano, there is such a sweet spirit that comes with it! My favorite hymn is "Near my God to Thee" and I love to sit down and play it on the piano! I feel so close to my Savior and I love to help other people come closer to Christ and Heavenly Father through music! I was the chorister for my ward, I actually got the calling for it while still in high school which is pretty rare and I had only learned how to conduct a few months prior and I am mostly self taught. The Lord has definitely helped me magnify my calling! I also taught sunday school for the 4 and 5 year olds and I loved their sweet spirits(: Right now I am serving an 18 month mission in the Boise Idaho area and I absolutely love it! I love serving the people here and helping them come closer to Christ!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Hannah Rae Nelson
Mormon women are like almost any other women, there is nothing strange about us! We love and care for our families just like every other mom, daughter, sister, aunt or grandmother. We absolutely believe in the equality of men and women! God created everyone of his children in his likeness and loves us all equally. The Apostle Paul taught that “neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 11:11). In the sight of God, and in the marriage relationship, men and women are equally important. Men and Women although equal have different responsibilities, the men hold the priesthood and provide for the family and the women nurture and teach the family. Each so very important and essential to the family. Show more Show less
