Hi I'm Rusty

I am a farm boy, a Marine, a school teacher, a school bus driver trainer, a fisherman, and a gardener and I am a Mormon !

About Me

I love my life ! I am a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and I live to serve my family, my church family and all of mankind. I enjoy fishing, gardening, cooking and canning, and remodeling an old home. I am a former Marine Corps Officer, Retired High School Teacher of Agriculture, Substitute School Bus Driver and Driver Trainer. I grew up in a blended family working hard together on a Central Kentucky Dairy Farm, being supervised and taught many skills by a Dad who was not only a farmer, but also a school teacher, which meant that we had to wake up to start milking each morning by about 4:30 in order to get to school on time. I am ever grateful that my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, let me know of His love for me in such a powerful and personal manner and because of that love I am striving daily to overcome the natural man within me by keeping His Commandments and also by trying to share His Gospel with others.

Why I am a Mormon

Many years ago I found a group of people who "practiced what they preached" and who truly strive to live according to the way the Savior taught that others could recognize His flock, when He said, "By this shall men know ye are my Disciples, if ye have love one to another." It is my firm belief that you will not find on the Earth any people who demonstrate more faith, hope, charity and love, than do the 15 Million plus world wide who carry the title of Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or Mormons. Although this gave me a desire to know more about this church and it's people, the most important reason that "I'm a Mormon" is that, when I read and ask God of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, He answered by the Holy Ghost that this was and is His work, and a companion scripture to the Bible, and another testament of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I feel that I best live my faith when I attempt, on a daily basis, to listen to and follow the promptings of the "still, small voice" of the Holy Ghost. I know that God can do so much more with my life than I can with my own feeble efforts. Therefore, living my faith requires that I do what I can to stay in tune with my Heavenly Father's Spirit, relying on the grace of Christ to make up where I fall short. Daily Scripture reading and prayer and being there for those who need me are a good start to getting me on the path that Jesus invites me to travel in returning to live with Him.
