Hi I'm Jacob

I'm an outdoors lover, rock climber, lifetime student at heart, an aspiring anesthesiologist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student learning about life, and I am going to become an anesthesiologist by profession. I love the outdoors, music, changing of the seasons, traveling often, and meeting new people. Rock climbing is one of my favorite things to do in my spare time. The exhilaration of climbing straight up a slab of rock or hanging from a cliff never gets old! One of my biggest life ambitions is to help other people realize and achieve at new levels and understand their full potential. Personally, I have a long way to go in this aspect but I continuously remind myself that everything is achieved one step at a time. You cannot climb a mountain if you never take the first step. My family and friends are my support and I thrive off of social interaction and observing people as they develop and learn new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I love to put myself in the shoes of a developing child who, bursting with curiosity, looks at every new day with such vigor and excitement and remains fully immersed in each moment of life. This is the way I choose to look at life because the beauty all around us is too easy to miss when we get caught up in ourselves and the worldly things that bombard our lives in this day and age. I know that in my life I can only do so much to direct myself and that's why I am so grateful for the knowledge of the restored gospel. I know that God does speak to us if we choose to listen. I know that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the way that is was established by him as he lived and taught during his life and ministry. I have read and prayed to know that the Book of Mormon is indeed a record of the early inhabitants of the american continent, brought here by the hand of God. I also know that none of us are perfect. I know that the Savior atoned for each one of us and that as we continually strive to become better each and every day and allow him to take care of the things that we are not able to fix that we can become closer to him as he is constantly inviting us to do. These are the simple truths that I hold dear to my heart and I know that as I learn and grow they are my constant source for reflection and guidance.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be continuously better. I served as a member of the presidency for my Stake Sunday School in charge of coordinating and counseling with ward presidencies and teachers about the lessons taught to the members in our wards and congregations. I'm now serving in the Albuquerque, NM mission for our church where I will boldly proclaim the reason for my hope in Christ.
