Hi I'm Adelinda Davis

I was was born in Utah and have lived in Italy, Germany, and England as well as many western states in the US. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sixth generation Mormon on my Father's side and a seventh generation Mormon on my mother's side. I was born in Utah and soon after began moving homes every few years along with my family because of my father's job. The most fun we had was when we were stationed in Europe. Moving every three to four years was tough but I wouldn't have traded it for anything. It made our family close because at times we were all we had and I am grateful that we have such a close relationship. Family is very important to me and I enjoy when we are all living close together. I am not currently married but I would love to eventually get married and start a family of my own one day. I went to Utah State and graduated with a bachelor's in Anthropology with a focus in biological anthropology. I enjoyed attending university and may return to get a master's or maybe even a PhD in the future, most likely in a different area though. When it comes to hobbies I enjoy a wide variety of things. I love drawing, painting, pottery, spinning(making yarn), weaving, bird watching, hiking, fishing, reading, horseback riding, traveling, and scuba diving.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. It may seem that I am a Mormon just because my family has been for many generations, but we each must find out for ourselves whether or not this gospel is true. I did take it for granted for many years and just went along to church because I felt I had to, following my parent's example. I knew that it was true in a rudimentary sense, but my testimony was weak. I finally decided I wanted the surety that the rest of my family had, and finally prayed with all my heart to Heavenly Father for direction and for answers. My answer was strong, I felt immense joy after having been in the depths of despair. I could not sleep for many hours that night because of the excitement and joy I was feeling. Everything seemed clear after that. The darkness in my soul was lifted and I began to have hope. The jobs I had been called to do in the church were no longer a burden. The terrible paying job I had was bearable. I had purpose for the first time in maybe a decade. I look back on my experience of being raised in the church and I want that for my kids. It was one of the few constants in my life. It was the same gospel, no matter where we were in the world. It is truly the Iron Rod that we must hold onto get us through the storms of life. A stationary strong pillar of light amidst the ever changing dark world. I don't ever want to go back to the darkness that I was in for many years. I know this is the true gospel restored to this earth. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. We have living prophets today to guide the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know it deep in my soul that this is the truth and I want others to feel what I feel. I know no matter where you are in the world no matter who you are or what your background is God loves you and is waiting for you to come to him

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings on Sunday. I enjoy meeting with other members and learning about the gospel. I currently serve as the ward greeter and greet people coming into sacrament meeting. This calling did worry me at first because I am not a very social person. But with Heavenly Father's help I have actually been enjoying it. Outside of church meetings I enjoy visiting with sisters who I have been assigned to visit teach. The friendships gained from this calling are wonderful. I am also a single adult representative and help organize social gatherings for the older singles of our area. I am also preparing to serve a mission in the Frankfurt Germany area. I am extremely excited and nervous at the same time but I know that all things are possible through Heavenly Father. Even for this shy introvert.
