Hi I'm Darin Wilkes

I live near the beach in Jacksonville, Fl. I love Nascar Racing and my passion is Shark Fishing and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love Nascar Racing and my favorite drive is Jeff Gordon. Saltwater fishing is my passion and when I am not working I am either at the Pier fishing for King Mackerel or on the shore fishing for Sharks. I have caught a 7 1/2 foot Bull Shark weighing over 300 pounds. I love living near the ocean which always reminds me of the beauty of this world God has created. As much as I love Nascar and Shark fishing I love I am giving that up for 2 years to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tijuana, Mexico. I will focus on serving the Lord and the people in Mexico for two years and will set aside the other things I love to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because we receive guidance from a Living Prophet. We read about the great prophets of the Bible like Moses and Abraham and Isaiah. You can think - How great it would be to have a prophet today to lead us the right way. Well - We Do have a prophet today. I am thankful I can follow the teachings of a Prophet of God. Also, I really love my family. We enjoy traveling together, theme parks in Orlando, fishing, and going to Church. I know that my family can be Together Forever. The teaching of Eternal Families is an important reason why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

What I love about my faith and being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that I am given assignments and do much more than just go to church on Sunday. I teach lessons, give talks to the congregation, and serve those in need. We also serve in the community and one of my favorites was helping the USO to serve military families. These families sacrifice so much for our safety and freedom and it's great that I can serve them. Most important is that I can turn to my Savior Jesus Christ to help me in times of need and give me strength and lift my burdens. I can feel His Love and Grace.
