Hi I'm Steve

I grew up in the upper Midwest in Wisconsin and Illinois. I have a wonderful family, and we're Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in the upper Midwest, most of my time in Wisconsin. Joined the Navy in 1992 after high school. Served as Enlisted and Officer for 15 years, 11 on active duty. Got out in 2007 and started work at a commerical power plant. In 2009 I was married to my beautiful wife Claudia and we now have two wonderful children, Matthew and Jacob. I was baptized as a member in September 2010, with my wife supporting me since she has been a member for almost 20 years. We recently settled down in a small town in Texas and we really enjoy the community and local Ward. Our hope and goal is to stay here for a time, get some roots established, and watch our kids grow up!

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon in September 2010 due to the fact that I got to see the Lord's work first hand. My wife is also my best friend, and she shared with me her experiences and testimonry. I also had the opportunity to work with a very good person and friend who became the Priesthood holder who baptized me. That, combined with very energetic Missoinaries, helped me realize that I was only holding myself back from a better life. I know the Lord hears our prayers and answers them in His way, and I know that being a Mormon has been an inspiration to living a good life and supporting a wonderful family!

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by doing the best I can to abide by the Lord's teachings. Being human means making mistakes and always being challenged by distractions and temptations. My wife and I work very hard to keep our communication going and ensuring we do everything for our kids and family. When times are very hard I know that I can turn to the Lord and ask for his help, along with members from our Ward. I am happy to have an opportunity to serve as the Ward Clerk and support the Bishopric in their efforts. Anything I can do to support our Church and the Lord's work we keep trying every day!
