Hi I'm Artemis

I grew up in upstate New York. I am a veteran, an artist, a clairvoyant healer, and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in upstate New York and left on my first big adventure when I was 16, traveling to Bolivia as an exchange student. I have always loved adventure and learning and that was my first experience branching out from the small town where I was raised. When I returned, I served 5 years in the US Navy as an aircraft mechanic, most of that time spent at a Naval Air Station in Sicily. I loved learning about the culture and becoming fluent in Sicilian, as well as working with service men and women from all walks of life. Honorably discharged from the Navy, I completed an art degree at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Since then, I have had many other adventures and have lived in California and Arizona. Most recently careerwise,I attained a Master's Degree in Education and taught art to elementary and high-school students, as well as homeschoolers. My husband and I now homeschool my ten-year-old son. After traveling the world and teaching hundreds of children, I am now happier than I have ever been, living the gospel, developing my talents, and teaching my own son at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a very spiritual person. Prior to joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I studied and practiced Zen Buddhism, applied Yoga principles to my life, and became versed in some aspects of Native American spirituality. I also cultivated a relationship with Jesus Christ, but never joined a church. I prayed and meditated often. As a clairvoyant, many of my decisions in life are informed by what could be called psychic or intuitive information. I have been very accustomed to navigating on my own in this way and being alone in my faith. When I met my husband and learned about the Church from him, I was really surprised (and so was he!) when my trusted sources pointed me toward joining the Church, getting baptized, and getting to the Temple as quickly as possible. It has been a considerable shift for me to become a member, however, this one-time maverick has never looked back. My life has truly transformed with my knowledge and acceptance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His love, His teachings, and His atonement have brought incredible light into my life and have helped me to make sense of my past, present, and future. The dim and difficult path which I clung to before and which led me to His door has been replaced by a radiant and new path and understanding which outshines all that came before. One aspect of the teachings of the Church that has been really important to me is the emphasis on the many and diverse gifts that Heavenly Father bestows upon His children, and that all gifts are meant to be developed and offered in service to brothers and sisters here on earth. As a clairvoyant healer, I have been given a unique gift that has caused some people in my past to ridicule or mistrust me. I was concerned during my conversion process that leaders in the Church would have me deny my gift. Instead, I was accepted for who I was and my gifts and taught about the 7th Article of Faith. (look it up...) That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a recent convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I have found my ward to be full of kind, compassionate, talented, and intelligent people who are interested in helping and supporting one another. I participate in as many of the women's activities as I can and am pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been to make new friends among these bright individuals. I have begun to attend Institute, a college-level Book of Mormon study class. My faith is renewed and deepened as we study the words of prophets and of our Lord, Jesus Christ, together. We learn how to apply scriptural teachings to our own lives and how to draw closer to Father in Heaven. I am also a den leader for our church's ten-year-old Cub Scouts, so I get to offer some of my teaching talents as we learn together. My family and I love camping and outdoors activities, so being a part of the Cub Scouts has been a perfect fit! I have learned that spending time in church callings and activities is a joy and never a burden, even though life is busy at times. I have been repeatedly and noticeably blessed and rewarded for serving others as I keep the teachings of Jesus Christ in mind.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Artemis
We can be blessed with knowing the truth regarding any question we have, and of knowing the right choice to make when both choices seem good or when the way is unclear. The Holy Ghost is real and will witness to you at critical times when you need help navigating life's waters. Also, the Holy Ghost will comfort you if you are upset about something.
