Hi I'm Ian

Combat Engineer in the United States Army. Serving a mission in New Mexico & Brazil Brasilia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an outdoors person, I love to get my hands dirty whether it's from a hard days of work or if I'm just having a good time with friends and family. I enjoy singing and playing the guitar, music is one of the things in this world I absolutely feel like i need in my every day life, I rarely go a single minute without having some kind of music playing. I will be going to the University of Utah to major in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, I hope that with my military background it will jump-start me in a career with the government like the CIA. I am a Combat Engineer in the United States Army, it has been the most challenging thing for me to accomplish physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I didn't care for the Church and didn't understand it even though I was raised in it with an active attending family. I made many mistakes in my life, I learned from them all. And I know that when I look out on all of God's creations it is humbling to me, I truly feel insignificant in it all, but at the same time the Gospel makes me feel like a crucial part of Heavenly Father's plan. I've been able to rely on my testimony and others to get me through all my trials and hardships, loved ones passing away, and the every day frustrations of life. My life is at peace with the Gospel, I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

I find it easy to go to church by just going, it's not a hard thing to do when you surround yourself with loved ones who all encourage you daily. I gain so much love teaching families and friends about the gospel. I love associating with everyone in the gospel, being able to relate with life questions and find answers through each other.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is like being part of a team to me. In your team everyone has a position and all those positions have important jobs. The team is God´s team, we all have a job to do and are all designated responisbilities that are there for our benefit and that too build the Lord´s Kingdom on earth. No matter what happens you always have your team (God), He knows you in and out, on and off the field. You can go to Him anytime you need Him and always be accepted, loved, and encouraged in your day to day life. Without this team, without God, life turns insignificant, or without purpose. As a Mormon I feel purpose. I feel God´s love and that He is real and that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to fulfill the sacred Atoning of all mankind. Show more Show less
