Hi I'm Taylor Paskett

I grew up and live in Utah. I love anything fish related. I am the oldest of 4 and yes, I am a Mormon. :)

About Me

Hello! My name is Taylor, and I am an Eagle Scout (all the credit goes to my mom). In my free time I love to sit and gaze off into my fish tanks. I have a 55, and 20 gallon tanks as well as 2 bettas. I have plans on expansion of the tanks and sizes. I can play the guitar and piano (not proficient in either, basically taught myself). Most of the time I hold 2 plus jobs. In my free time, I will either clean my fish tanks, look at the sunset, go on walks that lead to no-where, or just plain talk with friends. And yes, I did say I like to clean my fish tanks. I feel it is so soothing! ;) I love listening to people and talking with others. I am a people person and hate being alone. Found that out at my first job... Above all, the best thing that I believe is one thing you should know about me, is that I am ALWAYS happy! Bad days just plain ol' suck. I pretend they don't even exist, "Fake it till ya make it!"

Why I am a Mormon

Man, where do I start?! Well, I just want to say that I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. I have been down other roads, done some not so good deeds. I have seen the effects first hand what sin (not following the guidelines of the church) can do to you. I have felt in the lowest of lows, I have been depressed, cried, felt heartache, misery, and most of all, regret. However, I now know that following the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not only the right thing to do, but also the most joyful, happy, lifting thing that you could ever do. I feel a hundred times happier following the guidelines set by God and For The Strength of Youth. Ya, I know that we have "rules" but they are there to help us be free and safe. When you are driving, isn't there a speed limit, right of ways, stop lights and signs, and lanes? Why are they there? Aren't there to many rules to drive? We should be able to go where we want, how we want, how fast and doing what we want to. The rules are overbearing! That may seem a little out of place, but think about it. If we didn't have those regulations, we would have more car crashes, people dieing, and you would be scared for your life. That is how our Commandments are (or guidelines as I like to think of them). Follow them, and you will be safe, happy, and more free to go about life.

How I live my faith

"Service is the rent I pay for my life here on this Earth" - Unknown I tend to find that when I don't feel the greatest, I go and serve others. Sounds a little dorky right? Well, I am here to tell you it works! Next time you feel sad, or mad, or just down right not your self, go and do something for your brother, sister, mom, dad, or anyone. I lose myself in the work and it just makes me feel better. Knowing I am helping them out. I will be serving an LDS Mission to Indiana for the next 2 years and can't wait for it! I know that I am sent here by direct revelation. I go about my day like anyone else, I try my best to live in the world, not of the world. I look at the beauty around me. I try and look for God in everything, and I try and look for at least one way He was in my life that day. Man, I love little kids! I have taught in Primary, ( classes for kids 12 and under) and they are so amazing. You never know how much you have, or who you love. till it's gone...
