Hi I'm Sheila

I grew up in Washington state and raised most of our family there. I I'm a wife, mom and grandma and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I currently work for a medical software company that serves mostly plastic surgeons. I have been an instructional assistant Full time mom (best job in the world) and prior to married and child life (my life BC - before children) I worked in a brokerage house. I enjoy needlework, crocheting, hiking, swimming. By Mormon standards I married pretty "late" at the ripe old age of 28 3/4 to Brian and he was worth the wait. We have been married 25+ years and have 3 children (2 girls and a boy). The girls who married within 6 months of each other just gave us a granddaughter and a grandson within 8 days of each other this year. I love being a grandma! I also enjoy music. I play piano and was a pretty good soprano. Over the years I have participated in community opera company's and other singng groups but I think old age, play ground duty and life has taken it's toll on my voice. I just don't have it anymore. But I still enjoy listening. I learn over the past 4 1/2 years that just because I am "older" doesn't mean I'm done learning or that I have arrived anywhere. Life is a journey. I have learned to do hard things these last four years and I don't want to quit learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the faith. I don't care what anybody says but you don't really get too much of choice on the day you are baptized at 8 years of age, however, I made the choice to be in this religion as I grew and understood more of the doctrine and served in the church. I believe it wholly and having said that I don't always have all the "answers".. I know my Heavenly Father and Savior love me and I know they know me. I have felt their love in very specific instances and I cannot deny it! I am grateful that there is a prophet who is able to receive revelation from the Lord. I am grateful too, to be able to receive revelation for me and my family. I know that the Lord truly hears and answers our prayers. I know what I feel when I hear the words of my leaders and how I feel when I study the Book of Mormon. Nothing in their words or the words of the scriptures leads me to believe anything but that our Savior loves us; He wants us to be like him; He suffered in Gethsemane and died on the cross so that I and anyone else could be forgiven of their sins. I know these things of myself. I have prayed and studied. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In my church I currently serve as a primary teacher to the 6-7 year olds. Primary is kind of like Sunday School only it's called primary. I love teaching these little ones. They are open, honest and you never know what will come out of their mouths when you ask the question "What would Jesus do" I have been a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served in England. It was not only fulfilling but it was a priveldge to teacher others about my believes and the Savior. I'd like to think I live my faith by example of the Savior. I hope that I radiate some of that in the way I speak and act toward others. I hope that I show happiness because living this way makes me happy!
