Hi I'm Katheryn

I'm from Miami, like country music, Love to laugh, have crazy big curly hair and I am a mormon.

About Me

Well, what can I say? To begin with, I am a shy, quiet girl. I grew up with 2 brothers who are great examples for me. I really like the outdoors and camping. All my life I have loved building/making things. It started off with legos and went on to popsicle sticks and then cardboard. I enjoy doing arts and crafts projects. All my youth I played soccer and was known in my stake as one of the best girl players. Being shy didn't exactly help when it came to making friends, but the kids at church were awesome. They are so friendly and really great people. I made lots of friends at girls camp and met new people at the youth activities. I like to serve and help others. Fast forward to the present, I am a young adult preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Spain Barcelona Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know without a doubt that this is the true church of Christ. I grew up in the church and had my parents as two excellent teachers and examples. I know for myself that the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saint is true because I can feel it when I go to church, when I read about the doctrine it teaches, and when I preach about the gospel. I didn't read the Book of Mormon until I was 15 years old. Every day I read, I learned something new, whether it be some sort of advice or stories that helped my faith grow. I noticed that a lot of the questions that people had about just life were found in the book and most importantly, I found that it like the Bible testified of Christ. Once I finished reading I prayed to know if it was true and I received a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that it was true. I felt a reassurance and that it was a good thing and that it was light. I can't think of a time where I doubted the church because the gospel is true. When I think of it Heavenly Father created a perfect plan where any question you have can be answered if we have faith and trust Him. However, I can say that I became truly converted after reading about the atonement of Christ. The atonement is when Christ dies for all of our sins. His Love for us is so great that because of him and thanks to him we now have a second chance to be clean again and to be great like Him. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen by God to bring about the truth unto the world and to restore the church of Christ. I know are Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, is a man of God chosen to lead and guide us now. I know that are families can be together forever. I know that if we keep the commandments we will be greatly blessed in our lives and one day be able to see the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently working with the young woman and I really enjoy serving others, but I think the best way I live my faith is by going out with the missionaries. I've been going out with the sister missionaries since I was about 12 years old. It is my favorite thing to do. When I go out with them I help them teach and share my testimony of why i am a member of this wonder church. I see them as very close friends. It is so great to be able to go out and help others come unto Christ and learn/know that His church has restored once again.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Katheryn
The law of chastity can be simply explained as being faithful. It means being sexually pure. Part of the reason for this commandment it so that we can respect the sacredness of creation or having children. Show more Show less
