Hi I'm Holly

I am from Utah. I work as a sales associate in a retail store. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I like to sing, dance, write poems, read, watch movies and plays, eat out, and go bowling. I try to do what's right every day. I try to think about what Heavenly Father and Jesus would want me to do at all times, in all things, and in all places. I do this because I know that they live, and I know that Heavenly Father answers our prayers, and helps us through our trials and problems. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I want to be who they want me to be, and be pleased with my decisions. I want to serve God because I know that him and his Son Jesus Christ love me. Jesus died for ours sins and was resurrected. Because of him we can repent of our sins daily, and return to live with him and our Heavenly Father if we follow the commandments. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen. My freshman year in high school I was really struggling with school, and I wasn't feeling good about myself. I realized that by not relying on the Lord through continuous prayer to help me with my problems, and regularly studying the scriptures I was literally miserable. All of the sudden during my sophomore year of high school, I realized I was fine again. I was doing two of the main things I should have been doing all along (prayer and scripture study). I was relying on the Lord. My prayers we're answered. I had repented and was living the gospel daily. Living the gospel is worth it because it makes me happy, and has truly blessed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I have always enjoyed going to church. I always feel good when I go. I know that's where I'm suppose to be. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that it is true. I know that Joseph Smith helped restore the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints back to the earth, and helped translate the Book of Mormon by the spirit of God. I gained my own testimony of the gospel by reading the Book of Mormon and asking Heavenly Father if it was true. I feel happy when I keep the commandments, live the gospel, and serve others. These things I say in the name of Jesus Christ amen. I would like to challenge you to read the Book of Mormon and find out for yourself if it is true. Read the promise made in Moroni 10:4-5. In the Pearl of Great Price their are 13 articles of faith. The fourth article says, We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the gospel are : first, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am a family home evening group leader in my singles ward. Every Monday all the family home evening group leaders and I have the wonderful opportunity to teach about our Savior's gospel to our other ward members. Sometimes we bare our testimonies,do a service activity, or a fun activity. We always begin with a prayer, sing a song, do our lesson, or activity, and end with a prayer. We do this in preparation for ourselves and our future families. We do this to spend time to get to know each other better, and keep our ward ties or family ties strong. Most importantly we do this to learn about our Savior's gospel, and stay close to him as a unit. I like all members of the LDS have a calling as a visiting, or home teacher. Visiting teaching is were two women go as teaching partners once a month to visit at least two sisters in their ward. They share a spiritual message, and find out how the sisters are doing, and if they can be of service to them. When two guy's go as partners to visit, it's call home teaching. Home teachers have the responsibility of visiting at least a couple brothers as well as sisters in the ward. I have enjoyed this calling because it gives me a chance to learn more about the sisters in my ward. I also enjoy when my visiting teachers and home teachers come because it's nice to know someone out there cares about me, and is willing to show me that they love me through their service. Especially during my trials. As members of the church we try to serve others through church activities with our ward, and on our own. It's feel's wonderful to serve and be served. When I serve it helps me forget about my problems, and realize that I can get through my problems. I know I have made the mistake of being so absorbed in my own problems that I wasn't there for others when they needed me. When we are struggling with our problems,or trials, it's nice to know Heavenly Father is there for us, and all we have to do is call upon him.
