Hi I'm Kaitlynn Olivas

I love to travel, I am a convert, I am serving in the Salt Lake City Mission speaking Spanish , and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a city girl that has never been horseback riding, although I really want to. I'm a quarter Mexican, despite my blonde hair and blue eyes, and I'm struggling to learn the Spanish language here in Utah on my mission. I'm a very social introvert. I want to travel the world and go to every temple in the state of Utah. I have a crazy family tree but I only have one sibling. I love making people happy and going out of my way to make someone's day better. I can say the alphabet backwards. The smell of rain in the desert is the best. I strive to always be positive especially when life takes a turn for the worse. Disney movies bring me back to my childhood and happy days, and reading allows me to have a different life within every book. Family is the most important thing to me, that is why I'm so grateful for the knowledge of eternal families. I love listening to new music that hasn't reached the radio yet, but I'm still a sucker for Taylor Swift. I laugh at my own jokes, especially when no one else does. Colored jeans are all I own, but right now I'm sticking to a skirt while on my mission. My sister is my best friend and I am lucky that we were able to be baptized on the same day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert. I was 12 when I Was baptized. To be honest when I was baptized I didn't have a solid testimony of the church, but through time and experiences that testimony developed. I always knew there was a God and that Christ was His son. But it wasn't until I became a member of this church that I realized that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father, that He knows me and loves me. It wasn't until I became a member that I realized where I came from, why I was here, and where I am going in the life to come. I have had many experiences for my testimony to grow throughout my life. Through girls camp, youth conference, firesides, stake and general conference, temple trips and more, my testimony has grown to what it is today. But it wasn't until a church history trip did I truly gain a sure testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith through my every day actions. Its through the small and simple habits that I can better become like my Savior and live like Him each day. This life is pretty hard but with the knowledge that I am a daughter of God I can at least have a positive attitude about it.
