Hi I'm Marissa Neeley

I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and its suburbs and I love the gospel.

About Me

I've been playing the piano since I was 8. I love to dance! Tap and country swing dancing are the best. I love to write novels, read books, go to the movies and spend time with my family and friends. I go to college and I'm studying History Teaching with an English Teaching minor. Right now I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in Louisiana.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 8, I decided to be baptized. I loved Church and I always felt comfortable there. However, when I was getting close to entering 9th grade, I started to worry if I would be active in Church later in life. This caused me to panic. In 9th grade, I started seminary. That year we were studying the Book of Mormon. Attending seminary and feeling the peace there and learning more about Christ as well as reading the Book of Mormon helped me to solidify my testimony of the restored gospel. I read the Book of Mormon every night for seminary and I noticed how I was happier. I was excited to read the Book of Mormon every night. Pretty unusual for a 15 year old girl to look forward to reading scriptures every night, but that's what happened to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in several ways. Right now, I'm a missionary which is a huge way to live my faith! But pre-mission, I would always go to ward functions, do visiting teaching, go to church every Sunday, and attend institute. I was the secretary of the women's group in my Young Single Adult ward. I loved going to Family Home Evening (a night dedicated to spending time with family) in the YSA ward. It was really fun! But in small but significant ways, I pray every night and read my scriptures. I try to be aware of my weaknesses and I constantly seek to improve and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
