Hi I'm Benjamin

I have grow up in Nampa Idaho my whole life. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in South Africa. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, my name is Benjamin. I have grown up in Idaho my whole life and loved it. I have been active in my school and community having participated in several sports such as Football, Basketball, Track, and Soccer my whole life. I have had a great interest in sports medicine studying it throughout high school and participating in the sports medicine club. I have also been apart of other clubs and organizations such as National Honor Society and Seminary. Right now in my life I currently have a job working at Red Robin as a bus boy and I love it. But I only have a little bit of time left there before I leave on my mission to serve in the South Africa Cape Town Mission. I am so excited and can't wait. I know the Lord has a work to be done and I am grateful for the opportunity to be an instrument in the Lord's hands to help him further his work.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and been a member my whole life, but I have also always asked myself, "Why am I a Mormon?" One day I was given an answer. I have seen the Lord answer my prayers and testify that this is His true Gospel. I came to learn this while I was at a camp for young men in the church 16 and older. While I was there I was given the opportunity to go out in the woods and pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Christ about whatever I wanted. So I took this opportunity to ask if everything I had been taught and learned was true. I was given an overwhelming feeling that this is the true church on earth. Ever since then I have had the opportunity to feel of Christ and his love in all that I do and say. As I have the opportunity to repent and confess my sins, mistakes, and transgressions I know that the bishop is there in place of Heavenly Father and that he forgives us of everything if we truly repent and forsake our sins. I have seen my prayers answered and have had, not face to face, but conversations with Heavenly Father through prayer where we have litteraly had the opportunity to have all my questions answered I have needed at that time. I know Heavenly Father lives, and loves each and every one of his children. He takes the time to listen to all of your prayers and answers them the way that best fits your needs at that time. I know this is the true Gospel on the Earth today and nothing will ever be able to remove it.

How I live my faith

I have always tried to live my faith to my fullest. I have had many opportunities to do so in my church callings. I have had the opportunity to be the Seminary President at my High School where I was able to help plan and prepare activities for other students to learn and grow closer to Heavenly Father. I was able to see how the Lord prepares each and every one of us for opportunities the will be placed in front of us in the future. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a ward missionary where I am able to help extend a hand to those in our ward that may be struggling and having a hard time come to church. My most recent calling though is I have been called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called to serve in the South Africa Cape Town Mission. I have been able to see the Lord's hand in missionary work just as I have been preparing to serve a mission. I have had to opportunity to read the Book of Mormon where I have learned of it's truth for myself. I have also had the opportunity to go and spend time teaching and serving with current missionaries to help prepare me for my mission. I have been able to so how Heavenly Father prepares not only us to teach but those who need to teach. I have come to know that missionaries are inspired of God not only when they are called but while they teach and search for people to teach. If missionaries come to your door know that they have been inspired.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

In the bible Jesus sets up and organizes his church with 12 apostles. He does this with the intent that the church may be able to go on after his death and that it may continue to be on the earth forever. We can see this as we read from Acts Chapter 1 where the 11 apostles, under the direction of Peter, choose Matthias as the new apostle to replace Judas. This shows that there was power given to continue to have new apostles called after an apostle passes away. Although this stops happening when the people on earth become to wicked and continue to crucify and kill the apostles. The people became to wicked to receive the Gospel of Christ. Along with that the 12 apostles had also spread themselves across the land to teach and where not gathered together to call more apostles, due to the fact that they were being killed off by the wicked people. So since Christs church was destroyed after he left he knew he would have to restored his church once again to teach the fullness of his Gospel. He just had to wait for the right time where people would accept his Gospel. Show more Show less
