Hi I'm Rachel

I am happy. I am hopeful. I am a child of God. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am happy. I am the second oldest of four children. My family brings me so much joy. We play games, we watch movies, we laugh, and we cry. I am hopeful. I know I am not a perfect person, but I also know that God loves me for who I am--I want to be good and do everything I can to have my actions reflect that. In a chaotic world, I find peace and hope in the simple pleasures of life--eating delicious gourmet food, looking at or creating art, listening to music that is uplifting, and reading inspiring books, especially the Book of Mormon. I am a child of God. God's love is evident in everything around me. I love everything outdoors, and it is when I am outdoors I feel God's love. I love to rock climb, hike, bike, run, relax, play soccer, walk, boat, and ski. I am a Mormon. The gospel of Jesus Christ is more than a religion, it is a lifestyle--a lifestyle of HAPPINESS, HOPE, and LOVE. It is what makes my life rich, full, and complete.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is TRUTH; a truth that resonates with my whole body. When I think of the Atonement and Resurrection of Christ I feel my mind, heart, body, and spirit align. I know that Christ lives. I know that we are never alone. The Holy Ghost is our CONSTANT companion to help us, to guide us, to comfort us. God's love for us is PERFECT, even though we are not. His love is unconditional and he wants us to return to live with him. Joseph Smith restored the gospel and with the restoration he restored TRUTH and light to the Earth. Mankind has always been directed by the hand of God from the founding of the Constitution to the incandescent light bulb. Living the gospel brings happiness and JOY in this life and in the life to come. I am not perfect and when I make mistakes I have HOPE because Christ atoned for ME and you and everyone. I grow more and more each day and someday I will be a perfect being. I chose my family, and although trial and tribulation arise in this life, FAMILIES ARE FOREVER. It won't be easy. Pain is pain, hardship is hardship, but the glory and overwhelming peace that comes when we return to our Heavenly Father will compensate all of our struggle. I am reassured that God's loves me when the Spirit validates feelings in my heart, when there is sunshine on a cloudy day, when I see beautiful art or hear glorious music, when my family makes me laugh or smile, when I reflect on all that I have, when I imagine the Savior embracing me once more. Christ lives. He is our Savior. Heavenly Father loves us, ALWAYS and FOREVER.

How I live my faith

The gospel is so much a part of my life that I don't feel my religion can only be practiced on Sunday. I find that prayer is much like conversing with your dearest friend, I find myself praying at all times to my Heavenly Father. When I am not verbally praying, I carry a prayer in my heart. I love to read the Book of Mormon. I am engaged in the stories of prophets and missionaries who shared their light and love through service and charity. The gospel of Jesus Christ is LOVE. I live my faith by loving each and every joyful moment of life; the sunrise, crisp autumn air, ice cold water, blue skies, summer storms, trees, mountains, music, art, family. It is when I am with my family that I can feel God's love the strongest. They are so important to me.
