Hi I'm McKenzie

I want to be an elementary teacher! I'm a working college student, a wife, a kid at heart (will be forever), and a Mormon.

About Me

I want to teach! I love being with little kids. I am recently married. I come from a big family and I love all of them! I am a college sophomore. I'm working hard to be able to pay tuition, but I love it. If I could be a hermit and read for the rest of my life I would be a happy girl. I love the color yellow and I think giraffes are awesome. I have a passion for the beauty of Alaska, but could never live there because it's just too cold. I yearn to be a mom, but know if I did that now I'd drop out of school, and I really want my degree, so I'll wait patiently for another couple of years. And secretly it scares me to death...but also makes me SO excited! I am terrified of worms. I love watching movies. A dream come true for me would be to be Tinker Bell in Disneyland. I love the gospel! I find so much joy in searching the scriptures and hearing the voices of prophets from so long ago. I have an undying testimony and I'm so grateful for my parents raising me the way they did and I only hope I can do the same for my children. I have an ever unsatisfied sweet tooth. I would do anything for a box of Twinkies! I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities life has presented me with. I am constantly blessed more than I deserve and I try my best not to take it for granted. I love my Savior and I know He has an unimaginable amount of love for me and you. I always find joy in that, and you should too, because I promise you it will bring nothing but happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I was blessed enough to grow up with the gospel. There was a time in my life that I wasn't completely sure about it. I thought maybe I could be happier living certain parts of my life differently than what the gospel taught. After very little experimenting I discovered that I am so much happier with the gospel. Having grown up in a home that is strong in the gospel I didn't always recognize that the spirit was there, but I knew as soon as it was gone. The spirit is a comfort and a guide that I love always having with me. As soon as it was gone I noticed and I wanted it back. I find that when the spirit is with me I feel better, and I find happiness everywhere I go. I am a Mormon because I know this is the full and true gospel of Jesus Christ and it brings me eternal blessings and joy.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live like Christ. As that is a lofty goal it could be discouraging, but because I know the Savior is proud of me for trying I don't get down on myself. I love reading the scriptures. The Bible and Book of Mormon are so powerful and I'm blessed every time I study them. I pray whenever I can, it gives me a closeness to Heavenly Father that I find comfort and strength in. I remember Heavenly Father's love for all and try to convey that in the things I say and do. I go to church and learn and feel amazing things. Sometimes I teach in church and I always learn so much from others in the class. I attend the temple. What an amazing place. It blesses my life so richly. I live my faith by trying to be like Christ in my interactions with others and by doing things that would make Him even more proud of me.
