Hi I'm Saara

I was born and raised in New Zealand and have just been called to serve a mission in the Washington, Kennewick mission.

About Me

I am 19 years old and am currently preparing to serve a full-time mission. I am from a family of 9. So that's two very cool parents, four older brothers and two sisters (one older and one younger). Growing up in a family this big is the GREATEST!! I'm really into anything creative, music: guitar, singing, composition and art: photography, sketching, mixed media art and design. If I'm around anything like sunlight, beach, trees or nature I HAVE TO CAPTURE IT!!! So being in New Zealand means yep... my sketchbooks are full of birds and trees. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church, but when I was about 16 years old I decided I needed to know for myself if The Book of Mormon was true, because if it was then that would mean that Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God, that he did see Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ, and that the very church that Jesus Christ had once established on the earth was right here in front of me. I got on my knees and prayed to know if The Book of Mormon was true, my answer wasn't all overwhelming or amazing as some people experience but I felt peace in my heart, and simultaneously 5 words came into my head. "You already know it's true."

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always striving to learn more of my Heavenly Father, and His son Jesus Christ. The more I learn of them, the more love and appreciation I have for them. The more I love them the more I want to be like them, serve them and eventually one day live with them. Through daily acts of prayer, scripture study, and service and through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can become closer to God and am able to experience the fullness of joy that living the gospel has to offer.
