Hi I'm Alan

I have been Mormon all my life I grew up in Roosevelt UT I am preparing to serve a full time mission and leave Oct 1st.

About Me

My name is Alan I have grew up on a farm my whole life and I love to work hard I am preparing to serve a full time mission and I leave Oct 1st, 2014 To the South Dakota Rapid City Mission. I like to shoot guns and ride horses and my dirt bike. I used to work for John Deere as a mechanic and I can find my way around a tractor and any vehicle you throw at me. I like to be outdoors I enjoy going to the mountains a lot and to feel the peace that is up there. It is very hard to get me to stay inside all day because being outside is where I feel like I belong.

Why I am a Mormon

I love that I am Mormon there is no better feeling on earth then to feel that you are doing the right things that you are making your father in heaven happy with the choices and things that you do. I have been raised in this church my whole life but I would have to say that the reason I believe it with all my heart is because of my grandpa. My grandfather has always been my hero so to speak he lived his life in a way that I would want to live. My whole life I have never heard him swear or do anything to make me feel uneasy about him, he has always shown me what to do but never forced me to do it his way, he wanted me to lead my own life but live it in a worthy way. Because of his example I have found my own testimony and I know that this is the true church and nothing can sway me from believing this but most of all I find true happiness in this church I feel that I am clean and if I were to die today I could be proud of my life. I have made mistakes but many of the mistakes I have made I have tried to fix and I just find that I keep growing stronger the more I involve myself in the church.

How I live my faith

I hardly ever miss going to church I feel a great love and joy from going to church. In my ward it feels as if we are all family we all have this connection and if anyone needs help we are always there for that person. I have been involved with the youth in almost every activity they do I really enjoy how we are always so happy. I have had the opportunity to lead the youth in my ward so I always got to plan what they did and it was a great experience for me. I have just graduated from high school so now I have had many chances to teach the youth but I feel as if I learn more from them then they do from me.
