Hi I'm Katelyn

I grew up in Idaho. I eat coconut ice cream. I played piano for a theater. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a receptionist for a Chiropractic office. My husband is currently attending college. We are waiting to adopt and can't wait to be parents! I love holidays and the changing of the seasons. Playing in leaves, lighting pumpkin candles and dressing up for Halloween. Building snowmen, sledding and hand making gifts for Christmas. Picnics at the park, family barbecues, and fireworks! Dance parties with my mom and sisters. Pretending to be princesses and coloring with my niece. I love Music. Singing songs from “Phantom of the Opera”. Playing Disney music on the piano. I love being active. Long walks at dusk. Exercising to workout videos. I've taught piano lessons. I've taken many art classes. I enjoy hiking and taking in all of natures beauty.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon brings me comfort, peace and joy always! I find comfort in knowing that I can be with my family forever. I know that if my husband or I were to die tomorrow that it would be ok. We would see each other again. I know this because we were not married "Till death do you part", we were married "for time and all eternity" in the temple. I find peace in my life instead of guilt because I can repent of my sins through the atonement of Jesus Christ. We all make mistakes, but repentance allows us to right our wrongs and to keep trying. I find joy when I keep the commandments. People often say that rules cage you but the truth is that they set you free. For example: Keeping "The Work of Wisdom" is one of the commandments, because I follow it I don't have to suffer or be restricted due to the affect of drugs and alcohol to my body. Being healthy, serving my Heavenly Father and those around me (and often receiving service in return) loving my neighbor, all these things open doors of personal growth, friendship and opportunity! I love the gospel because you learn that no matter what hardship you are facing, the Lord is right there to give you comfort and guide you if you are willing to get down on your knees and pray for help and enlightenment. We can find guidance on how to live a good life by reading the Book of Mormon. In that book of scripture we also learn of blessings that come from doing so. I know that I am never alone. I know that I am a daughter of God. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for me and you and he wants us to be happy. I have found that my truest happiness and joy comes living the gospel. I live it because I believe it and I know the teachings to be true. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At church I oversee the needs of the Women. I organize groups of people to help bring meals to new mothers and people who are sick or otherwise afflicted. I work with other women to create fun activities for the rest of girls to help us get to know one another. I aid in organizing our Sunday Church meetings and sometimes give the lesson in class. I assign each women in the ward another women in the ward to visit and watch over in case they need help or just need a friend. I work closely with the Bishop and other leaders of the ward. We have meetings weekly where we pray together and discuss how we can better serve and befriend the members of our ward and help each other learn of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
