Hi I'm James Holmes

I live on Cape Town, South Africa. I am athletic and more importantly I am a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Somerset West and attend Parel Vallei High School. My interests mainly include Hockey ,running and paintballing. I enjoy any sport or activity that needs a lot of courage or gets your adrenaline pumping. I want to become a Medical doctor when I grow up because I want to have the skill that requires great effort and is in a large need in todays world. I speed my free time reading books, playing on the TV,sporting ,relaxing and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. My parents had they say in what I do but as I become more independent I can make my own choices and I choose to be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I believe the words of the book of Mormon and the teachings of the prophets to be true. I believe this church is the same church that Jesus Christ organised when he was here on earth. I know through scripture study the truth I revealed as it was to me when I asked about it. I am for graeful for what I have learned in the church and it is important to me.

How I live my faith

In my ward I am the president of the Young men between the ages of 14-16. We do a lot of fun things together. we are always volunteering to help in any person in need and if the job is to big we ask for help but that mostly doesn't happen. I also am able to teach the youth which is the best way to learn. I have a calling as a home teach to three families and basically what I do is make sure they that are alright and give them a message from the prophet. Even from my young age I organise activities in the church but most of these activities are for the youth so they are fun and energetic.

What is faith?

James Holmes
Faith is believing in something that you can not see or only have a small knowledge of that specific thing. I was taught that faith is like a little seed. If you plant it, it will grow. We base the principle of faith on this simple example as did one of the prophets from the book of Mormon. To have Faith in God is to believe he is there, that he watches over us and believe he loves us no matter what happens. If you trust God you are exercising your faith in him. Show more Show less
