Hi I'm Jocelyn Jackson

I grew up in a small town of Pingree Idaho, I'm very involved with music. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the youngest child of three children, I have two older brothers who are now both married, and have made me an aunt! My parents are such wonderful people, my mom sells insurance and my dad is a mechanic. I love to sing, I have sang all my life and I love learning new instruments. My most favorite thing to do, is spend time laughing with my friends and family! My friends and I sing and dance everywhere we go, and we love having movie nights. My family and I like to play card games and eat together! Uno and Sunday Dinners are what we love most!

Why I am a Mormon

I've always had a testimony of this gospel, however, it wasn't until my junior year in high school, when i gained my true testimony and was truly converted. At this time I was learning about the atonement and what has always stuck with me so strongly, is that Heavenly Father sent his son Jesus Christ to this earth so Jesus Christ could pay the price and suffer for my sins. In our darkest times, Jesus Christ is the only one who knows our pains, because he has felt and suffered every pain we feel, wether that pain be physically, emotionally, or spiritually. We can use the gift of the atonement and repent of our sins. Our savior Jesus Christ loves us so much and is there to help us when ever we need him! He knows our pains so he knows how to help us through those pains, and I testify that he will help us thorough! We are never given a trial we can not handle. Trials are hard but they are what bring us closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and strengthen our testimonies and faith! Looking back, I'm so grateful for my trials because I now have a firm testimony, and I KNOW that this gospel is true and was restored by our true prophet Joseph Smith, I know and love our living prophet, Thomas S. Monson leads us and is a voice of The Lord, I know the Book of Mormon is true. I love this gospel and I know it's true with all my heart!!

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to have many church callings, through these callings I have learned how to be better organized and have learned the importance of planning ahead. I've had the blessing of serving with the youth in my school. I was apart of the Seminary Counsel my senior year of high school, that was good for me to learn how to get youth involved with the gospel in a fun way. Being able to participate in these callings have most importantly, taught me to rely on my Heavenly Father for help and guidance, And I've learned to trust in him 100%.

What is the difference between attending a church and attending a temple?

Jocelyn Jackson
Attending church is more of a public meeting house where all people of all ages gather and we study and learn about the gospel in scripture study and in lessons. Attending the temple is being in "The House of The Lord" (1 Kings 6:1,37). In the temple we partake of certain blessings and make new covenants with our Father in Heaven. Those who enter the temple must be worthy to make these covenants and worthy to enter. Show more Show less

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Jocelyn Jackson
Of course visitors are welcome! Our meetings are 3 hours long, we have sacrament meeting where we partake of the sacrament which is bread and water blessed by priesthood holders which allows us to renew or repent of ourselves. Primary is for children 3-11, nursery is offered for kids 2-3 years old, young woman's is for ladies 12-17, Relief Society is for woman 18 and older, and priesthood has age-oriented classes for young men 12 and older.
