Hi I'm Terry Dee

Raised on a farm in Canada. Studied Fashion Merchandizing. Love being a grandma, painting, gardening and travel. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love people especially children. When I younger riding horseback, figure skating, singing, sewing and 4-H were my favorite activities. I went to the big city and studied Fashion Merchandising and modeling in College. I commentated and co-ordinated fashion shows and taught gymnastics, ballroom dancing and sewing as a 4-H leader as I was raising my children. We had a family band where our family played instruments and sang mostly western music. As I have become older I have more time for watercolor, gardening, travelling and doing family history research.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors were converts and pioneers in the church and came from Europe, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom in Ireland, England and Wales. Some were the first immigrants in the first colonies and some even came on the Mayflower. Their descendants joined the church. I however, am not a member just because of them. In the church we are encouraged to ask questions , read and study and pray. We believe in personal revelation. I have read the Book of Mormon many times because it blesses my life and our family. One particular time when I read it I prayed about it's truthfulness and I knew from the Holy Ghost and the joy, peace and warmth I felt that it was truly another witness of Jesus Christ. In one of the versus in the book Moroni 10:4-5, it says: "when you receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask of God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost . And by the power of the Holy Ghost you may know the truth of all things.". My prayers have been answered so many times.

How I live my faith

I love the Savior, Jesus Christ and know he loves me and all of his children. He has blessed me immensely so I have chosen to serve Him and children, youth and my brothers and sisters. In my ward, I have been a teacher and leader, working with men and women, young women and children. I became a Commissioner in scouting as I worked mostly with the Cub Scouting program. I see great value in the scouting program. When my children were young, as a mother and member of the community I have tried to be supportive in sports, music and school and have always tried to be a good citizen and neighbor but more importantly a good wife and mother. Humanitarian and welfare work has been important to me and I have taught others, constructed, gathered and arrange distributions of items for those less fortunate in our community, country and throughout the world. For many years I have been serving as a Visiting Teacher. Visiting Teaching is a way we help each other as sisters in the church. We teach and become friends and learn about each others needs so we can assist each other when there is needs to be met. It also helps our leaders to be aware of each sister, as we are accountable in this stewardship. My favorite place to serve has been in the temple. I am very blessed to have many temples near our home. It is in the temple where I have been able to know our Father in Heaven's Plan and our Savior, the best. Presently, I am studying French and preparing to serve a mission with my husband to France. I
