Hi I'm Brooklyn

I am a snowboarder. I am a Ragnarian. I am a pianist. I volunteered in Guatemala. I am learning hockey. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. I love that we can learn new things and gain new skills and develop new talents. Some of my favorite things to do include playing tennis, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and card games with my friends. I also enjoy running, on the road and in the mountains, and marveling at the amazing world and body that my Heavenly Father has given me. I love doing anything that allows me to exercise outdoors such as ski, snowboard, mountain bike, hike, and boat. Music is a wonderful blessing in my life, too. I love the messages and emotions it can convey. I play the piano and viola and am learning the guitar. I am currently a college student trying to finish up prerequisites so I can apply to physician's assistant schools. I teach a section of Anthropology 101 at my university. I also tutor biomechanics and anatomy. I lived in Guatemala for a month and a half volunteering at a daycare for children with special needs and a small clinic that served mainly teenage mothers. I learned a lot of Spanish there and am continuing studying it here in the States. Another thing I learned while living in Guatemala is what a blessing the gospel is and that everyone would benefit from learning and living it's teachings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me happiness and gives me hope. It is so comforting to know that there is a God who loves me and knows me personally. He knows what I need to do to live the most righteous and fulfilling life I possibly can and guides me to make the right choices to get me there. It makes me happy to know that every person I see, whether it be in the hallway at my university or in the streets of Guatemala, is a child of God and therefore my brother or sister. We are all in this journey together and if we can help each other follow Christ's example we will be able to enjoy all the incredible blessings God has in store for us.

How I live my faith

I plan and participate in activities for young single adults aged 18-30. We play sports, have BBQs, go hiking, have scavenger hunts, go to cabins, have talent shows, visit retirement homes, hang out with special needs, clean up the streets and parks, and do other service for our community. I also love posting inspirational quotes on social media to help myself and my friends get the most out of all experiences we have during this time in our lives.
