Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in Oregon, and am going to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Oregon where I was the youngest with four older sisters. I spent a lot of my time outdoors whether it be with the boy scouts, friends, or family. Many of my hobbies growing up were Scuba Diving, hunting/fishing, hiking, and traveling. And I will be serving a LDS mission in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a active LDS family and as such always had the gospel in my life. However while I was raised in the church I had many doubts and uncertainty's. Though when I became a teenager I realize that I was at a time of my life where I needed to discover myself the truthfulness of the gospel. So I began to restudy the scriptures. I gave myself to serious fasting and prayer. From this I received a confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel, that Jesus Christ is my savior.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following the examples that our Savior Jesus Christ set. Being kind, and loving to all though they may have different opinions or ideas then I do. I strive to participate in Church and Community service projects. But perhaps most importantly I try to be a obedient son to my parents, a supportive brother to my sisters, and a loving uncle to my nieces and nephews.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Ryan
In order to answer that question what is considered "Holy Scripture". The answer to that is, when you think about it, is simply the testimonies and confirmations of faith of men, women, people, and prophets. All a declaration and telling of the experiences they had with God. The Bible then in other words is a testimony of all those things and more. It testifies of God's love for us as his children, and the divinity of Jesus Christ. Often people confuse the Book of Mormon as the "Mormon Bible." There is only one Bible. The Book of Mormon is another testament of the same God, and same Savior of the world only told by different men, women, people, and prophets. Both testify of the same message, that God is our loving heavenly father, and Jesus is the Christ. Show more Show less
