Hi I'm Julie

I was born in Colorado, but the ocean is my home. Studying sharks is my passion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I love being in the water, and being at the ocean is where I feel most secure and most at home. Sharks are my passion, and diving with them is on my bucket list. I love traveling and hope to travel the world in the near future. I want to engulf myself in different cultures and meet people from various walks-of-life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church my whole life, but I knew I needed to gain my own testimony and conversion. I prayed to know for certain that the Church is true. I got my answer for myself when I was ten years old, and from then I have worked to build my testimony. There have been bumps in the road, and I was less active for most of my teenage years, but I knew I had to get back to Church because I knew that is what was missing in my life. I know without a doubt that this is the Lord's true Church. I know that through a prophet, Joseph Smith, Christ restored His Church to the earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God today, and that he truly does receive counsel from the Lord concerning Heavenly Father's children. I love that I have the scriptures, and I know that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is evidence that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that Christ did come to the earth and teach and perform miracles among His children. I love my Heavenly Father and the Savior, and I know They love me and all of their children.

How I live my faith

Last year I served as Secretary in the Young Women's Presidency. I have been serving as a Ward Missionary and Sunday School substitute. I have loved serving the Lord in these callings, and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone with whom I have served. I love the youth that I teach, and having discussions with them has inspired me to want to become a better person. Visiting teaching was something I always wanted to do as a youth, so when I was finally of age I was ecstatic to receive an assignment. I love the the Sisters my companion and I visit, and I look forward to having lasting friendships with each of them.
