Hi I'm Ila Chandler

I live in Idaho! I enjoy singing, being outdoors, and playing piano! I love being with family! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of three girls. I was born in Utah, then moved to Idaho when I was 12 years old. I graduated high school in 2012. I am currently going to school to become a preschool teacher. The children's fun and vibrant spirits make me so happy when I am around them. Some of my hobbies include, singing, playing piano, being outdoors, and being around family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found out for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. Both my parents are members of the church, so I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ. But even though both my parents are members, I still had to find out for myself whether or not the Church was true. I couldn't just take their word for it. One night when I was 16 years old, I was reading in Moroni from the Book of Mormon. I had read these verses a lot, but they really stuck out to me this time. In Moroni 10:4-5, Moroni promises us that if we ask with a sincere heart and real intent if the Book of Mormon is true, then Heavenly Father will reveal the truthfulness to us through the power of the Holy Ghost. So, I decided to kneel down and ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true. After I was kneeling down and finished my prayer, I got a soft feeling in my heart and I knew that the Holy Ghost was telling me that the Book of Mormon was the word of God and that it was Another Testament of Jesus Christ. After that night, I have never looked back. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. And I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers through the Holy Ghost. But, you don't have to take my word for it. Ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon is true. I can promise anyone who does this with a sincere heart and with real intent that the answer will come through the power of the Holy Ghost. I can't promise that the answer will come right away, but it will come! Heavenly Father knows exactly what we need when we need it. He will give it to us in His own time and in His own way.

How I live my faith

I always strive to live my faith in a way that others will see the light of Christ within me. I have recently returned home from my full time mission in Iowa. During my mission, I was able to talk to everyone and help those who wanted to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I strive every day to follow God's commandments and to serve those around me. If anyone needs help; I will be there! I am so grateful for Jesus Christ in my life. He changes my life for the better every day.

What is the priesthood?

Ila Chandler
The priesthood is, literally, the power of God. All worthy male members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are able to hold the priesthood. The priesthood is not for personal gain, but for service to all of God's children. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Ila Chandler
Mormons believe that families are central to God's plan for His children. The Gospel of Jesus Christ can bless families to live together, not just for this earth life, but forever through temples. Temples are the gateway to having forever blessings with our family. Show more Show less
