Hi I'm Carol Orme

I am a wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 7 children. We have 20 grandchildren. I love being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. I graduated from a university with two majors: Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. I taught school for 5 years while my husband attended Veterinary Medical School in Colorado. I enjoy outdoor activities: hiking, biking, boating, water and snow skiing, gardening, exercising--anything active. My family is my life. I have been very involved in Parent Teacher Associations, my children's lessons, sports, and school activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace and happiness. It gives direction to my life. I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 8 years old, but I have not always had a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. When I was 21 years old, I volunteered to participate in the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, New York. As a cast member we were asked to mingle among the audience and share the story of Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I could not do that with conviction. I was frightened. I needed to know for myself if the gospel was true. I went into the Sacred Grove, knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father if the Church was true. After a period of time, a warm, peaceful feeling came over me testifying that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a restoration of Christ's church. I have never doubted the truthfulness of the gospel since that day in the grove.

How I live my faith

My life is centered around the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am very involved in church activities. I have been a choir director, youth leader, scout leader, camp director, etc. I have organized several Days of Service for our community. I am happiest when I am serving the Lord.
