Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in Utah. I was a teacher and now I am a full-time missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have taught Kindergarten and then First Grade for the past four years. I like to run, dance, hike, and love anything having to do with music. I began a Master's program a year ago, and love to continue learning. I recently decided to take a break from my education and teaching school in order to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm serving in the Washington D.C. South Mission (Northern Virginia)

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and can testify that it has forever changed my life for the better. I have always been active and attending church services and activities through my youth and into young adulthood. I came to a point in my life where I needed to decide the path I would take in life. I realized that I had taken some parts of the Gospel for granted and that I needed to put more personal effort in to strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ. I realized that I had never doubted what I had been taught, but I had also never specifically prayed to know that it was true. I began to ask specific questions as I studied the scriptures, prayed and attended the temple. The results were amazing. It was not an overnight change, but gradually I began to notice that I became happier. I can say without any doubts that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I have loved having the opportunity to teach at church and serve in the women's organizations in my ward. Currently I have the opportunity to share the message of the Gospel as I serve as a missionary for the church. This is a wonderful blessing. There are many people seeking answers to some of life's great questions and it is beyond rewarding to share with them something that will bring them more happiness and peace in this life. I currently have a calling in my young single adult ward where I get to find and reach out to other individuals in that age range and invite them to various activities that take place throughout the week. Although I go to church each Sunday, the Gospel is something that impacts my life daily.
