Hi I'm Dallas

I'm a problem solver, a thinker, music lover, terrible singer and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the California Arcadia mission, probably one of the most life changing decisions I have ever made. Any opportunity to interact with other people and talk about what makes us humans tick is a valuable experience. I earned my Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, I spent a lot of time on stage in High School and I went to one year of college before I left to serve. I didnt really know what for though, but that's okay. Now I am loving life and working hard, two essentials to healthy living.

Why I am a Mormon

At first I was a member because that's the way I was raised. I thought that this was just the way life was. After a while though, I realized that floating through life just trying to ride by on what others expected of me wasn't enough. I needed to have a personal testimony of the church. I have prayed and studied a lot, about my own church and others, and though I have never received a heavenly messenger or heard a voice talking to me, I know that this is the restored church. I know it because every time I listen to my heart as I read the scriptures or hear a talk given by the leaders of the church, I get a peaceful feeling and I think to myself 'this is right, this is true'. Nothing major, just a small quiet moment, but it has made all the difference for me and in how I plan to live my life. I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

My faith helps define me. I have met some people who feel that they have to separate the different parts of their life. Religion, work, friends, family. Each one has its one rules and its own expectations. For me, it is all one big picture. My faith teaches me how to worship, my faith helps me decide what kind of work I want, my faith helps me as I interact with others. My faith is who I am. I believe that this should be true for all of us, whatever our faith might be.
