Hi I'm Jacob

I was born and grew up in Wyoming. I will be serving a mission for the LDS Church in the Portugal Lisbon Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy the outdoors and many of the things I like to do are hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and just being out in the wilderness. I also enjoy playing sports for fun, such as football, basketball soccer, Frisbee, swimming, and skiing. Spending time with my family, my friends, and my dogs are other things I love to do. I will be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Portugal Lisbon Mission for 2 years. Afterwards I plan to attend college and start a family. I am at an exciting and wonderful time in my life. I hope and pray that the Lord and His Spirit can be with me and guide me while I go out to serve His children and invite them to come unto Christ so they can receive His Gospel of Happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As I grew older I was involved in the Church. Slowly I learned more about the Gospel and little by little I gained a knowledge of the truths the Church teaches. When I was a young teenager I prayed and asked God if Joseph Smith really was a prophet and if he really saw God and Jesus Christ. I received a comforting and reassuring feeling inside of me that what I had been taught was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet and did see God and Christ. I also felt that he did bring back Christ's true church on the earth. From that and other similar experiences that I have had, I know by the power and feeling I have received from the Holy Ghost that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is found only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know these things are true.

How I live my faith

In the church I have a calling or responsibility of being a ward missionary. In others words, I go out with other members of my church and we visit members of the church in our area that need help or support and do what we can to help them. We also help those who are interested in our faith learn more about what we believe. I love to go out and help other people when I can.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are central to God's plan for all of us and we are all part of His Eternal family. This Eternal family includes every person that lives on the Earth or who ever has. We are literal sons and daughters of God, our Heavenly Father. In this life, family members are meant to help, support, and love each other here on earth. We believe that through Jesus Christ and the restored Priesthood power of God, families can be united in Holy Temples so that we can live with our families after this life in love and joy. I believe this to be true and I know I can be with my loving family forever. Show more Show less
