Hi I'm Josh

I was born in Utah. I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. I'm a Pole Vaulter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school honors graduate. I love sports and competition. I love to race, except for on foot. I Pole Vaulted in my last two years of high school. I am now in the final stage of preparation to serve my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was the first born in my family and was given the amazing opportunity to grow up in the gospel. Every Sunday I would go to church and learn. In classes I would read the scriptures and try to connect the prophets lives to my own. So starting very young, I developed testimonies of all the church doctrine that I cherish as part of who I am. Throughout my life I have had to stand up for everything I believed in. My elementary and middle school years were spent in highly non-lds schools so my brothers and I were usually the only Mormons in the school. Because our religion wasn't well known among the children I knew they would ask questions, taunt and test us whenever it was possible. I didn't think much of it until I realized that I could share an eternity of happiness with them as well. So questions didn't seem to pester me anymore. Instead they strengthened my testimony and helped me to become a more devout member. High School seemed to be a more sensitive time. Where the jokes didn't come as lightly as they did when I was ten. Instead they were intended to harm and confuse me about something I held very dear. However, after a few strong confrontations they main aggressors found that my love of the gospel couldn't be shaken by their small remarks. They accepted who I was and who I stood for. God was with me. God is with me, and I will stay with God. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently I have the opportunity to serve a mission, so I am constantly reading, searching and looking through the scriptures and other church doctrine. Whenever I leave my home to help my parents with my younger siblings I try to apply recent scripture that I have learned to help improve someone's day.
