Hi I'm Scott

I grew up in California. I love music. I am an award-winning pianist and a vocalist also. I love to play baseball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and play several musical instruments. I have taken many music classes throughout high school. I have taken private piano lessons and also teach private lessons. Music is a huge part of my life and it is a great way to connect with others and feel the Spirit. I am an Eagle Scout and loved being a part of scouting. I love to be outside whether it is working or just enjoying nature. I also love playing baseball. I leave for Thailand soon to serve a mission. I am very excited and love the opportunity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as I have seen the difference between those who know Christ and seek to be like him and those who do not. The people who do are often much happier and have a good sense of why they are on this earth and what they should be doing. I love the Gospel because it helps everybody strive to better themselves regardless of their current situation. By taking small and simple steps towards our goals, we can achieve great things; especially when we work together. The Church as also taught me how to be more outgoing and have uplifting and positive relationships with other people. I have learned and am learning how to love people for who they are and helping them in any way I can.

How I live my faith

I play the organ at church. Whenever there is a special meeting, I often get asked to play the piano or sing in a small group. I love music because there are so many emotions that can be expressed through music. I have also been in charge of friends that are my age making sure that they carry out their simple assignments and that everything within our group is working smoothly.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints seeks to help others better themselves. One way they do this is to encourage others who need assistance to serve others and in return they receive the help that they need. This way, not only can those who need help receive it, but they can in turn help others also. This helps others see the good of service and encourages them to provide more service in the future. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a special witness that allows a person to know that something is true through the Holy Ghost. After learning about fundamental teachings such as knowledge of the love our Heavenly Father has for us, that Jesus Christ lives and He paid the price for all of our sins so we can live with Him and Heavenly Father again, that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church through revelation, and that we are led by a living prophet that has authority to do so and who receives revelation from God which we have access to. We share our testimonies with others so that they can grow and that others can receive a special witness just like we have. A testimony is what fuels our desire to become better people and help others do the same. Show more Show less
