Hi I'm Brigham

What do I get excited about? Family, nothing better!

About Me

Currently I am serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has been an incredible to see so many lives change. Including my own. The spirit works in many ways. I have come to see that often the Lord will teach us through trials. When all seems unbearable that is the time to turn to him and feel the power of the Atonement work in us. I have felt this for myself and hope to continue feeling it every time I make changes in my life. What an incredible opportunity God has given us to come here and strive to become like him, I do love a good challenge. Though missionary work takes us away from our families it is very rewarding. We can all see great strength and blessings not only in the lives of ourselves and our families, but also those we come to love here in England. The people of England are incredible and they are so diverse. I love language and culture, and these people have one every part of my heart! What a pleasure it has been to serve here for a year. And what a pleasure it will be to continue serving here!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me joy. I have read the entire Book of Mormon and prayed about it. I have gotten an answer for myself. That answer is reaffirmed every time I re-read the book! Joseph Smith really was called of God. It is because of that knowledge that I am so certain this really is Christs church restored to the earth. I know it, and I can not deny it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by waking up every day and deciding to try to be more like Christ then I was the last day. To walk as he walked, love the way he loved, serve the way he served.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Brigham
I like to see the answer in this way. Think of someone that you really love, more then anyone else. Now imagine that you have received a ticket to a concert, very limited entry. Clearly you would be very excited to go see your favorite band, but would it be as good as it could be with that person that you love so much? You quickly realize that the experience could be so much greater with them by your side. So you want to go and get them a ticket as well. Mormons perform Baptisms for the Dead because we want all men everywhere, not just those who have the opportunity to learn in life, to have access to Gods kingdom. I have a personal testimony of Baptism being the gate by which we enter onto the path that leads back to God. Man cannot walk that path without entering in through the gate. So the purpose of Baptisms for the Dead is to allow everyone, EVERYONE, the opportunity to walk that path with us. What a blessing to walk that path with those who have gone before us!
