Hi I'm Aubree

Hi! I love outdoors, sports and the beach! I'm studying to become an Athletic Trainer. I love the color orange. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Aubree and I'm obsessed with sports and playing games. I'm currently studying to become an Athletic Trainer and I'm minoring in Recreation. I played both tennis and soccer in high school and still try to play each as much as possible. 'm completely content with any outdoor activity, though I especially love biking, hiking and swimming. I'm trying to teach myself how to play the piano...trying being the key word here. I also love to sing and did choir in high school (alto for life!). I also love cooking and baking and spending time with friends around the dinner table. I'm currently preparing to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission! I report in December 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the love of my Savior Jesus Christ through the members of this Church. Even when life throws me hard times, I am able to keep a sense of hope and optimism because I know I can overcome my trials and shortcomings if I rely upon my Father in Heaven. This church and its members have given me an overwhelming sense of love and support, and I know it stems from the love and support God has for each of us. I know that prayer is a real and effective way to communicate with God, and that the Book of Mormon and a living prophet on the Earth today are just some ways that he communicates back! I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I have read and knelt in humble prayer to ask if its true. As the scriptures repeatedly promise, I was able to receive a confirmation from the Spirit that the book is true. The feelings of warmth, peace, and surety I was able to feel is a testimony that the book is true. Time and time again I have been able to find comfort within its pages, and I know it comes from God's love for each of us. If you have any curiosity in your heart, any hope for knowledge you desire, I encourage you to read the Book of Mormon. You can come to know for yourself if its true, and you can come to know of the incredible love that God has for you!

How I live my faith

I'm currently taking some time off school, which means I get to spend more time in the area I grew up in! I have an awesome Young Single Adult branch here with wonderful and inspiring members and friends! Even though I've only been attending the branch for a few months, we already have such a close bond! We have super fun Family Home Evening activities, especially getting together afterward for some good old competition ping pong and pool. I'm also the Gospel Doctrine teacher for the branch. This year's class is on the Old Testament, which was definitely daunting in the beginning but I've come to love it! Our class is full of great conversations and I'm lucky to have members who are willing to participate and share their insights. It makes my time as the teacher much more enjoyable and we all learn more in the process!

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Aubree
Reading the scriptures allows you to draw closer to God. While some of the ancient stories may seem unrelated to our life now, they provide a great example for how to live within God's plan for us. Their examples can encourage and motivate us to be better versions of ourselves and deal with people and situations in our lives in the best ways. Scriptures provide answers to our prayers, answers to our deepest questions and comfort and guidance during difficult times. Scriptures promote love for our Savior Jesus Christ as well as love toward everyone around us. Implementing scripture study into your life can have greater positive effects than you would ever imagine! Show more Show less
